Speech Language Support
Bouldercombe State School offers Speech-Language Therapy Services to all students in Prep and identified students across all year levels, in conjunction with a range of whole class programs within the early years targeting differentiated oral language teaching. The speech-language pathologist collaborates with teachers to create a comprehensive literacy program that embedded high reliability literacy strategies in modelled, guided and shared reading programs. Where identified, inclusion staff also offer small group speech and oral language programs on a regular basis.
Guidance Officer
Guidance officers are specialist teachers who deliver a broad range of services to school community members, contributing to the development of comprehensive student support and wellbeing programs that address the needs of the school community. They work directly with students and collaborate with teachers, school support personnel, families, other specialists, and external support providers. Their support includes advice and counselling on educational, behavioural, vocational, personal, social, family, and mental health and wellbeing issues.
Chaplaincy
Chaplains provide support across the entire school community. They help monitor school wellbeing, serve as additional adult role models for students, and engage with parents and the community. Student participation in any activities they offer is voluntary. These officers are inclusive and respectful of everyone in the school community, ensuring that all activities, programs, and events are non-discriminatory and equally accessible to all students. They are strictly prohibited from evangelising, proselytising, or attempting to undermine any student's beliefs.
Social Worker
Social workers employed to support students to improve their personal and social wellbeing through identifying issues that require change and connecting students and their families with support. Social workers address challenges experienced by students across a range of mental health and wellbeing concerns and apply evidence-based interventions through personal and family counselling, therapeutic support and group work. Using a strengths-based approach, they work to maximise students' engagement with education. Social workers also facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families in accessing this support.
